Construction of cities comes with many planning challenges such as clearing trees and failing to put up effective replanting strategies. ‘Urban forests’ are important and should be set out close to residentials and along major highways where high pollution has been documented. Currently, there is a lot of urban construction and road expansion going on in Kenya. These projects come with environmental degradation effects. For instance, the Nairobi Expressway construction led to a loss of trees - an undertaking that put the  Marabou storks at risk. Not only did the project impact lives such as the storks, but also biodiversity along the stretch of 27 km highway at large. As a language teacher, I have been open-minded and flexible in my teaching practice. I always adhere to the theories of teaching including planning, delivery, assessment and giving feedback. In my planning for instance I use both the initial and diagnostic assessment to assist learners to develop IPL. In lesson planning, I employ pedagogy and teaching style that take into account learners’ needs. Considering Vark's learning style theory (Neil Flemming in 1987), I carefully model my delivery style to ensure my students meet the objectives I set for the lesson.  Depending on the type of learners in my class (that is audio, visual or kinaesthetic), I chose the channel the ensure the content of the lesson is put across. For instance, I give out notes, and handouts; use textbooks, write notes on the board or project visual materials for visual learners to absorb what I teach. Mathematical proficiency requires a student to be able to communicate in a way that meets the goals of mathematics instruction including solving mathematical problems, communicating and reasoning mathematically, making mathematical connections, and modelling and interpreting practical situations. However, this can be affected by approaches a teacher use in a Math class. Therefore, effective learning of numeracy skills should incorporate representation, listening, reading, discussion and writing. A teacher may employ group discussions, put mathematical questions in a context that learners are familiar with, encourage students to express their opinions, guide learners to understand instructional material and encourage them to write or work out mathematical activities to help students develop mathematical skills.

Equality and diversity is the idea of promoting and accepting the differences that exist between people. Equality is to ensure nobody is discriminated against in any way whatsoever on grounds of age, race, sex, gender, learning difficulties and disabilities, physical disability, religion, marital status, sexual orientation or financial status. Diversity, on the other hand, is enabling and valuing the differences within, between and among people. The aim of a teacher should thus is to create an environment where all learners thrive despite the differences that might exist between them.
